Dynamics of bioenergy landscapes: ground, space, and farmers

Meeting energy needs in a sustainable fashion requires an understanding of the relationships between the environmental processes that occur on the landscape and the human land use decisions that affect them. This research follows a framework for exploring sustainability that incorporates the biogeochemical, biophysical, and human aspects of managed agroecosystems for bioenergy. It examines in specifics the effects of land type and management practices on soil carbon and nitrogen dynamics.
